Volunteering at White Orchid Hospice

Make a difference for someone. Make a difference for yourself.

Few things match the feeling of knowing that you’ve truly made a difference for someone. White Orchid Hospice relies on the talents and dedication of volunteers to provide and enhance our unique services and programs, and to make a positive difference in the lives of others.

Patient Companion

Shares time offering socialization and companionship by holding a hand, reading, listening or just offering a quiet presence.

Respite Volunteer

Sits with the patient, allowing the primary caregiver to attends to errands, their own doctor appointments or simply to have a few hours to themselves.

Animal Assisted Therapy Volunteer

Shares the company of their own pets with patients who enjoy the companionship of an animal. These four-legged volunteers must be certified through the Delta Society, or other animal certification program.

Administrative Volunteers

Help our different departments with light office duties, such as filing and copying.

11th Hour Volunteers

Specially trained in creating a peaceful, calming space for patients whose death appears imminent.

Audio/Video Recording Volunteers
